Her History

Alexandrina was born on September 15th to Duke and Duchess Phillp de Costa, the only girl to be born and the second child. The first born was her brother Tobias who is 10 years her senior and is to be the next Duke de Costa. From the moment she was born she was loved, and a happy little child. As she grew she spent her days outdoors, and loved to ride and pretend to be on adventures. She would love to spend her days reading and learning from her tutors who brought her books on philosophy, religion and politics. Her mother believed that a young woman's mind needed to be well sculpted and educated. On the other spectrum she was also to be prepared for the day when she would one day marry. She was presented to court when she turned 15, and was well received by the queen who thought her a great beauty. She was not as close with her father as she was with her mother, though her father did provide her with the things that she wanted and would from time to time challenge her with debate and share stories of his travels to the capital to visit the king and parliament.

When Alex was 17 years old she was sent to away to visit her grandmother in Orleans, a month or two after she received word that her mother grew ill very fast and had passed. In her grief, Alex returned home, and found her father in a grave state. He kept to himself in his study and would not see her, nor her brother. Her respectable father died a month later due to unknown causes. That left Tobias to be the new Duke de Costa of Illvermory. Alex went back to be with her grandmother.

Upon her twenty-third birthday, Alex was sent to the capital to live with her godparents, Lord and Lady Mulbery where she might perhaps better her situation. As she spent her days in the capital, she was not herself. The bloom that she once had was lost and faded. She became more reserved and not as open.
